The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great choice if you're looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that is priced in the middle. It has a great mopping performance but lacks some of the features that are found in its more expensive counterpart.
In tests it was able to eliminate pet hair and dry oats out of carpets with a medium-pile. It doesn't employ LIDAR, however, as other models do, to map your home.
Roomba s9+ iRobot from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top-rated robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features, including a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
The setup process is simple thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automatic cleaning functions at the touch of the button. You can choose an overall clean that focuses on cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal or two thorough maps of your home to ensure your entire home gets a proper look.
This vacuum works well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It is able to pick up pet hair and also suck large objects up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot says it will improve with the next models.
The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on improving the edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that uses an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into the furniture and walls. It's a nice change from the traditional hockey puck shape of robovacs, but we found it to be marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an improved filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. We think this is a nice statement but not enough to justify a higher price.
Its smart navigation system employs sensors that remember your home's layout and vSLAM technology to map the interior. It then cleans your entire house efficiently by avoiding obstacles like stairs and other obstacles. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, as well as set up virtual boundaries, so it knows to avoid areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it is about robots that combine mopping and vacuuming the Roborock Q Revo is a standout. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on more expensive models. And its mopping system is superior - its spinning pads scrub floors more efficiently than the vibrating pads.
The only issue is the lack of a second brush for deeper cleaning. However, it's not a problem if you want to own one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its competitors and takes only two or three cycles to fill it, even with the highest dirt level.
In terms of the mopping device, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub off hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two lowest mopping settings that are less powerful than the high-powered ones, create minimal noise, meaning you can work or watch television without being distracted. It will gently hit a wall or furniture and move on when it encounters one.
What sets the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to function almost completely autonomously, requiring only a little for human intervention. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash into the bin hidden in the background and also washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app will only notify you when something is wrong, such as the water tank being empty or a canceled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.
You can also create or combine rooms to personalize the way Q Revo treats your home. This is a great feature to have if you have several rooms in your home that have different flooring materials or if there's clutter that must be removed regularly, such as toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, removing debris from both carpets and hardwoods in its first run. It can even vacuum up wet spills but I would suggest drying them with a cloth before sending the robot into.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo with all the features you could wish for. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction to clean hard and carpet floors, plus the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough stains. It also has a self-cleaning base station that automatically empty and cleans the mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for use again. It also has a sensor that recognizes obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling on furniture or other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model is sleeker and more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet high and deep and weighs nearly four pounds--the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or website iRobot j7.
This model is more efficient than the X1 as it charges faster and cleans 1,500 square feet in a single charge. Additionally, it comes with a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when required.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that is functional even when you're at home. It also has additional mopping modes as well as an intelligent routing feature that allows you to clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of just following a set route.
The X2 Omni is the most effective robot at mopping. Its mop pads that rotate clean tough stains and its motor generates plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also excellent, and it increases suction when it detects a carpet to ensure a thorough cleaning. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as powerful as any we've seen in a consumer-grade robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a premium model that has a range of features that aren't often found on robots in this price range. It can create precise floor maps and recognize various flooring types. It's also among the few robots that automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are nice, but they also place the L10s in the class of luxury. This could make it more expensive than what homeowners would need.
Created to look like a contemporary floor cleaner designed to look like a modern floor cleaner, the L10s Ultra is a tall and slim device that has an elegant white finish highlighted by mirror plating and silver elements. The front of the machine is adorned with a large bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner as you move around your home. In the pane in the front is an additional navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the screen, you'll find a single button that essentially serves as the on/off switch. This button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu in the middle of the control panel allows users to select cleaning options, schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons on the screen will bring up the settings menu in which you can alter the way that the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop effectively without getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR also assists the robot vacuum recognize and avoid obstacles and obstacles, which is a wonderful feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance that clears 98.4 percent of debris from our test on the hard floor and getting rid of all but the most stubborn juice stain. The mops also work well and remove 98.4 percent of the debris from our tile, carpet and wood tests. However, it wasn't as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor, or Quaker oats on carpet.
