During our tests, the IQ was able to handle pet hair with ease, removing huge amounts of hair from floors with no flooring and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less efficient with shag carpets, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able to maneuver the legs of chairs, small spaces and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was slower on floors that were not paved but it was able to recover speed and was more efficient than the other robots we have tested.
The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a larger dustbin and lasts longer on a charge, and does a better job of maneuvering itself around obstacles. It also has a mopping attachment that can handle sticky messes.
